Being a McKinney Newborn Photographer often brings up the opportunity to shoot both a lifestyle newborn and maternity session for my clients. I love it when that happens! Being able to capture expecting parents during the end of their pregnancy, knowing that the next time I see them they'll have a baby in their arms is really fun.

Melanie's sessions both took place at one of my FAVORITE locations, Studio House in McKinney. I shoot here fairly often and absolutely love being able to offer this beautiful farm style home atmosphere (with killer natural light!) to my clients. The owner is so generous to offer this space to local professional photographers like myself! 

Here are some of my personal favorites from our maternity mini. 

When they came back to the studio for their lifestyle newborn session, they acted like total pros. I love photographing all families but I think I have a little bit of a soft spot for first time parents. I love to see them figuring things out and pretty much all of them are doing SO much better than they think they are!! These two made a great team, and were both so smitten with their little man. 

I think we went through two diaper changes, and a feeding break before we really got started! I love how the baby is kicking mom from the outside in one of the pictures! This is the nature of a newborn session...they have their own agenda, and you just roll with it (and I keep on shooting right through the chaos)  

Every session takes on it's very own flow and I love being able to let the baby lead. It's so sweet to capture all of those sweet connections. Just look at all of the love between this sweet little new family. 

Many of my clients hire me for my lifestyle work because I love to focus on candid moments and real connections-I also see the value in more traditional style portraits and am always happy to incorporate a few of those shots as well! While I do not do any formal posing like you might see in posed studio sessions, most of my clients do enjoy receiving a few of those snuggly, sleepy shots of their little one all wrapped up!
