If you're looking for some unique and fun baby shower gift ideas-look no further. Or maybe you're expecting a baby of your own and need ideas for your registry! Between being a mom myself and having nannied for many babies over the years you could say I've been around the "baby block" a few times. I've used countless (I mean, seriously countless) baby products and could probably give you some kind of feedback on just about every baby item there is!
In this post I thought it would be fun to highlight 3 of my most recent favorites. I discovered all of these when we had our last baby and while none of them are "needs", they're still some of my favorite baby items I've ever used and in my opinion make GREAT baby shower gifts. They're affordable, fun, and add just a little something "extra" to that registry gift (because lets face it, everyone needs diapers abut those aren't always the most fun thing to shop for! Throw one of these guys in with those diapers or rash cream and you're gift just went from "blah" to "ta-da!") So, lets get to it!
1. Boon Silicone Feeder
You may know of the old school mesh feeders. Forget those, and get these silicone feeders. These are more sanitary, easier to clean, and dry in a flash -They're *AWESOME*
This is the perfect way to allow your baby to munch on fresh fruits and cooked veggies from about 6 months on. (A lifesaver if they aren't into baby food...and honestly who can blame them?) Bonus: These are great teethers. Frozen bananas (or whatever you fancy) mixed with that soft squishy silicone is heaven on those tender gums!)
Another perk...see that little hole at the bottom of the handle? You can hook plastic links onto that, and hook it to their high chair when you're out to eat...they can't throw it on the floor and mom and dad can eat in peace! I can't say enough good things about these.
2. Copper Pearl Baby Bandana Drool Bibs
My favorite drool bibs of all time. These babies are as soft as butter, and made of lush thick cotton on the front with a nice fleece on the back that keeps your baby's neck rolls dry and comfy. I love that they have snaps (instead of velcro) and can be adjusted to two different sizes. And the prints are seriously to die for. These serve a functional purpose and are fun to look at too. As a boy mom, I'm always happy to find things that spruce up a solid onesie (and I welcome these trendy modern prints as opposed to fire trucks, sports and Paw Patrol everything!) P.S. if you're a girl mom...OMG-you'll die when you see their girly prints. Amazing!
3. The Baby Bum Brush
If your little one has ever had a diaper rash you know all too well how much fun it *isn't* to put diaper cream on! It gets all over your hand, and once you have it on the baby you've got to finish up the diaper change with messy hands...without getting it on baby's clothes or the outside oft he diaper. Who needs that? A friend clued me in to this little guy and it's been a diaper time game changer for us! It's soft and flexible on baby's bottom, has a suction cup base to help keep it upright while it's waiting to be cleaned off, and comes in several fun colors. When you're done just wipe it clean with a baby wipe (and I usually clean mine off with hot soapy water at the end of the day) and voila! Clean hands and a lathered up booty for a happy baby and happy mama!
P.S. In case you were wondering, my FAVORITE diaper cream (seen in the background here) is Grandma El's Diaper Rash Remedy and Prevention Ointment. It's the bomb. And it smells like candy. Love. It.
